INTERCESSION
1- In Romans 8:31-34) The Text say : [ What then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? Jesus, who died, more than that, who has raised to life, is at the right hand of God is also interceding for us ].
# Do you ever think that because you aren’t good enough for God. He will not save you? Do you ever feel as if salvation is for every one else but you? Then these verses are especially for you . If God gave His Son for you, He isn’t going to hold back the gift of the salvation. If Christ gave His life for you, He isn’t going to turn around and condemn you!! He will not withhold any thing you need to live for Him. Paul says that Jesus is interceding for us in heaven. God acquitted us and has removed our sin and guilt, so it is Satan, not God, who accuses us, when he does, Jesus, the advocate for our defense, stands at God’s right hand to present our case.
2- In Hebrews 4:14) The Text says : [ There for, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess ].
# Christ is superior to the priests, and His priesthood is superior to their priesthood. To the Jews, the high priest was the highest religious authority in the land, he alone entered the Holy of Holies in the temple once a year to make atonement for the sins of the whole nation( Leviticus 16). Like the high priest, Jesus mediates between God and us. As humanity’s representative, He intercedes for us before God. As God’s representative, He assures us of God’s forgiveness. Jesus has more authority than the Jewish high priests because He is truly God and truly man. Unlike the high priest who could go before God only once a year, Christ is always at God’s right hand, Interceding for us. He is always available to hear us when we pray.
3- In Hebrews 7:25) The Text says : [ There fore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them ].
# No one can add to what Jesus did to save us : our past, present, and future sins are all forgiven and Jesus is with the Father as a sign that our sins are forgiven. As our high priest, Christ is our advocate, the mediator between us and God. He looks after our interests and intercedes for us with God. The Old Testament high priest went before God once a year and plead for the forgiveness of the nation’s sins. Christ makes perpetual intercession before God for us. Christ’s continuous presence in heaven with the Father assures us that our sins have been paid for and forgiven (see Romans 8:33-34 , Hebrews 2:17-18 , 4:15-16 , 9:24). This wonderful assurance frees us from guilt and from fear of failure. If you are a Christian, remember that Christ has paid the price for your sins once and for all .
4- In 1 John 2:1) : The Text says [ My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if any body does sin, we have One who speaks to the Father in our defense, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
# To people who are feeling guilty and condemned, John offers reassurance, They know they have sinned, and Satan( called the accuser) in( Revelation 12:10) is demanding the death penalty. When you feel this way, don’t give up hope. The best defense attorney in the universe is pleading your case. Jesus Christ your advocate. Your defender is the Judge’s Son. He has already suffered your penalty in your place. You can’t be tried for a case that is no longer on the docket. United with Christ, you are as safe as He is. Don’t be afraid to ask Christ to plead your case. He has already won it ( see Romans 8:33-34 , Hebrews 7: 24-25 ) .
5- In 1 John 4:10 ):The Text says [ This is Love : not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins].
# Love explains : 1- Why God creates --because He loves, He creates people to love.
2- Why God cares ---- because He loves them, He cares for sinners.
3- Why we free to choose-- God wants a loving response from us .
4- Why Christ died --- His love to us caused Him to seek a solution to the problem of sin.
5- Why we receive eternal life -- God’s love expresses itself to us forever.
Nothing sinful exist in God’s presence. He cannot overlook, condone, or excuse sin as though it never happened. He loves us but His love does not make Him morally lax. If we trust in Christ, however, we will not have to bear the penalty for our sin ( 1 Peter 2:24 ) we will be acquitted ( Romans 5:18) by His atoning sacrifice.
6- In Job 1:9-11 ) The Text says : [ Does Job fear God for nothing? Satan replied” Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and every thing he has? You have blessed the work of his hand, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face” ].
# Satan considers God his enemy and he always tried to hinder God’s work in people, and been called the accuser who accuses the Christians before our God day and night but to the right side of God’s throne, stands the Son of God, the defender of His believers that shed His own blood to bear their sins. So we can rejoice because the victory is won by sacrifice, Christ’s death in our place. So as we face the battle with Satan, we should not fear because Christ brought victory.
